Why 'Deleting' Isn't Enough

Standard formatting or "factory resets" do not remove data; they simply hide the index. At Kent-ITS, we provide a mathematically and physically verifiable destruction process:

• Certified Software Erasure (NIST 800-88): For functional equipment intended for reuse, we use industry-leading software to overwrite every sector of the drive. This process ensures data is unrecoverable even by forensic specialists.

• Physical Shredding: For damaged drives, SSDs, or high-security assets, we provide mechanical destruction. Shredding is the only "absolute" guarantee for modern flash-based storage (SSDs/NVMe) and mobile devices.

The Audit Trail: Your Legal Protection

We don't just take your hardware; we provide the paperwork that protects your business during a GDPR audit. For every collection, you receive:

1. Asset Reconciliation: An item-level inventory of every device collected (by serial number).

2. Certificate of Data Destruction (CoDD): A legal document confirming the date and method of destruction for each data-bearing asset.

3. WEEE Evidence Note: Proof that your electronic waste was processed according to UK Environmental Law.
